Film · 1989 · Directed by Miloš Forman · Starring Colin Firth, Annette Bening
Another take on the story of seduction and betrayal among French aristocrats.
The film follows the main intrigue of the novel with a gentler, more romantic tone than the other adaptations.
The novel, told in letters, is cooler and more cruel.
Les Liaisons dangereuses by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos
A delicious, clever story told in letters, full of intrigue and style.
Who will like it: Readers who like witty, scheming letters and high-society games.
