A guide for job hunters and career changers, revised every year from 1975 until the author's death in 2017
Richard Nelson Bolles self-published the book on December 1, 1970, and Ten Speed Press began commercial publication in November 1972. It is a career and job-hunting guide that advises job seekers to network to reach the person who can hire them rather than mailing resumes in bulk. It also encourages readers to identify what they do best and enjoy most. Its Flower Exercise gives seven ways for job seekers to define themselves. The book has been revised annually from 1975 until Bolles's death in 2017.
