Dave Ramsey's seven baby steps for paying off debt, budgeting and building wealth
by Dave Ramsey
Thomas Nelson published Dave Ramsey's book in 2003, with updated editions in 2007 and 2013. It covers methods for paying off debt and avoiding future debt, budgeting and correcting common money myths. It lays out seven sequential steps called baby steps: save a $1,000 starter emergency fund, pay off debt with the debt-snowball method, save a full emergency fund of three to six months of expenses, invest 15% of household income for retirement, save for children's college, pay off the home early, and build wealth and give generously. It includes stories of individuals and couples who used the plan.
